An important part of the tourist offer of Sutjeska National Park is its rich cultural and historical heritage, which includes numerous material remains, written sources, and monuments from both earlier and more recent history. In addition to its nature of exceptional value, Sutjeska National Park is also well known for the legendary Battle of Sutjeska, whose landmarks are always of great interest to visitors.
The Memorial Complex of the Battle of Sutjeska consists of:
- The Central Monument of the Battle of Sutjeska – a work by Miodrag Živković from 1971, representing great artistic and ambient value;
- The Memorial House of the Battle of Sutjeska – Panorama, designed by Ranko Radović, whose interior walls are covered with 13 frescoes by the artist Krsto Hegedušić, as well as other individual locations and memorial landmarks within the narrower and wider protected zones;
- The Museum of the Battle of Sutjeska, with a permanent exhibition featuring around 400 exhibits;
- An additional 79 smaller monuments, which together form an integral part of the Memorial Complex of the Battle of Sutjeska.
