The oldest saying about the existence of a clock in Bosnia and Herzegovina is related to Foča. It is the endowment of Mehmed-pasha Kukavica, who was born in Foča. It was built in 1758.
The Dubrovnik Dutchery donated the first clock mechanism to the Foča trade center in September 1493, and this clock mechanism was kept to be built into, after the construction of the Clock Tower.
The clock tower was built of stone in the form of a square prism, it is 20 meters high and covered with a tent roof. One rnters the tower through ninety centimeters high metal door, and the wooden mechanism leads to the wooden stairs. The watches are located beneath the roof of the tower and turned on four sides. Clock mechanism was restored in 2011.
